FREE MVMT SHOP Popping up at 3649 N. Southport January 8

Free MVMT Shop is opening a pop-up shop in Spotless Cleaners former location on January 1 through April 30, 2018. This location will eventually be torn down in May 2018 for a mixed-use TOD development, but it's great to have a small business in the space until the time comes. Below, you can take a look at their January schedule and learn more about their services.

OUR MISSION
Free Mvmt (Movement) Shop’s mission is to open new possibilities to our community by making accessible a diverse and unique variety of movement-based fitness practices, by adding life to unused commercial real estate in the Chicago area, and by supporting local nonprofits in the process.

OUR MOVEMENT PHILOSOPHY
We believe that through moving the body with intention, one can attain incredible results in terms of fitness, health, and happiness. This is why all of our programming is based around human movement and not workouts that rely on expensive or complicated equipment. We also believe that fitness should be something to enjoy. Too often, being physically active becomes another task to check off a list, a mindless quest to burn calories and build muscle. Free Mvmt Shop strives to break that mold. Every time you step into our studio you can expect a stimulating and engaging experience that provides a wide range of benefits. We foster a social, creative, and playful environment where you can push yourself to the limit, develop new capabilities, and have a great time. We hope you will join the movement!

OUR POP-UP MODEL
Do more with less. Chicago is rife with unused commercial real estate vacant for brief to long periods of time. Because we invest in people and space, instead of things, we are able to quickly get set up and take advantage of great short-term rental opportunities. This allows us to offer excellent instruction at extremely accessible prices. Our inaugural "pop-up" location is 3649 N Southport Ave. We will be operational here from Jan 1, 2018 until April 30, 2018—and not a day longer as the building will literally be torn down in May. We couldn’t let this former dry cleaners go to waste and we promise you that we will make the most of the four months we have this space!
